Joost Kolloffel
Since June 2008, Joost holds the position as Head of Marketing, Government Segment. In this role, he is responsible for understanding the needs and drivers in the Government segment, and determining Elsevier’s communication strategy for the Government segment for existing and new products or services.
Joost has worked for Elsevier since 2001 based out of Amsterdam and for a period of three years in New York as well. Joost has conducted two studies to increase the insight of the effects of the many changes on the library and to academic researchers. One study is published in the UK peer-reviewed journal Serials (which happens not to be an Elsevier title).
In 2008, Joost taught a course in digital and online publishing for New York University's Center for Publishing and has been a guest faculty for a special seminar offered by the General Administration for Press and Publications in Beijing, China.
He worked as an Information Broker at the Scientific Information Department of DSM-Gist in Delft, where he led several innovative library projects.
Joost Kollöffel holds a Masters degree in Biology, specialized in Molecular Genetics from the Free University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He has also participated in various library/information science courses in the Netherlands.
