Harnessing the value of grey literature with peer-reviewed resources

"Grey literature" is scientific or technical output produced by researchers and practitioners, often housed in agency repositories, and often contains more valuable details than other types of literature. Unlike peer-reviewed literature, Grey literature usually cannot be found in mainstream databases.
Grey literature includes a wide variety of documents such as pre-prints, fact sheets, standards, working papers, committee reports that contain nuggets of value essential to research discovery. Integrating Grey & Peer-reviewed literature will enable:
- An all-encompassing view of the total available sources in a given scientific field
- Enhancement of research output measurements metrics
- Increased researcher & affiliation visibility
- Most importantly, better research outcomes
Joost Kollöffel, Head of Marketing Government Segment, Elsevier, introduces the topic and presenters
Richard Huffine will discuss the topic of grey literature in the current Digital Age, and what strategic decisions we need to make to support research
Rafael Sidi will discuss the future of research discovery; how a new search and discovery ecosystem will add value
